About Saras Homes
Student Housing Designed for Binghamton University Students
Safe, affordable, student-friendly off-campus housing near downtown Binghamton. Private bedrooms. Reliable heat and Wi-Fi. Walkable / bus-accessible. No “figure it out yourself.”
Our Mission
Saras Homes was created with one clear goal: make off-campus housing less stressful for Binghamton University students — including international (F-1) students, first-time renters, and graduate students who need quiet and reliability.
We believe you should be able to focus on studying, research, labs, teaching, recruiting, and sleep — not fighting about utilities, chasing down landlords, or wondering if you’re even allowed to live in that address.
We keep it simple: safe location, livable spaces, clear pricing, honest communication.
Why Students Choose Saras Homes
We’re not a giant anonymous apartment tower. We’re focused housing for real students who actually need to live here, cook here, and sleep here. Here’s what matters:
Private Bedrooms
You get your own space with a door that locks. No sharing a bedroom with strangers.
Student-Only Houses
3 Bed / 1 Bath and 5 Bed / 2 Bath units built around student life, not random month-to-month tenants.
Location That Makes Sense
Near downtown. Near bus lines. Easier to get to campus classes and get home at night, especially in winter.
Clear Costs
We walk you through rent, utilities, heat, and Wi-Fi so you know your real monthly number before you sign.
International Student Friendly
No U.S. credit yet? On F-1? Parents overseas? We work with that all the time and explain everything in normal language.
Grad-Friendly Options
Quiet roommate matches for master’s / PhD / TA / RA students who need sleep and bandwidth, not loud parties.
Life Near Downtown Binghamton
We place students in areas that make daily life easier: coffee, groceries, bus access, food options, and connection to other students — not 25 minutes away in the middle of nowhere.
Being close to downtown and transit matters in upstate New York winter. You don’t want to be walking 20+ minutes on ice at 11:30 PM after lab or study group.
We’ll happily tell you: how current tenants get to campus, how late they come back, and what a typical Uber/Lyft ride costs from campus to the house.
We Help You Before You Even Arrive
Still overseas? Coming in for Spring or Fall start? We’ll walk you through video tours, explain lease terms in plain English, and answer parent safety questions. You’ll know what you’re walking into — bedroom, roommates, heat, Wi-Fi, commute — before your flight lands.
We Understand F-1 Logistics
No U.S. credit yet, no SSN yet, nervous parents, mid-year arrival — we see this every semester.
Transparent Monthly Cost
We’ll tell you rent + heat + Wi-Fi + electricity up front. No “surprise” bills after move-in.
Roommate Fit
Quiet grad house or social undergrad house? We’ll tell you honestly who’s already living there so there are no surprises.
Ready for Spring 2026 or Fall 2026?
We’re actively placing Binghamton University students in 3 Bed / 1 Bath and 5 Bed / 2 Bath units for upcoming semesters. If you want a room where rent makes sense, utilities aren’t a mystery, and you’re not alone on Day 1 — talk to us.
We’re happy to speak with parents.
